Australia's premier celebration of regional tourism will take place in Parliament House, Tuesday 15th September

The awards are a moment for Australia's regions to step into the spotlight, showcasing the vibrant communities, unforgettable experiences and hidden gems that make tourism beyond our capital cities so extraordinary.

Celebrating the very best of regional tourism, the event will honour destinations and people across the categories - Top Tourism Town, Small Tourism Town and Tiny Tourism Town, alongside our Top Tour Guides in the Country. From breathtaking landscapes and unique local experiences to the passionate people who bring every journey to life, these awards recognise the stars of regional tourism. Most importantly, the event shines a light on the vital role tourism plays in strengthening regional communities through jobs, infrastructure, investment and economic growth.

Australia's Top Tourism Town Awards

To be eligible for the National Awards held at Parliament House in September, towns must first win Gold in their category at the state or territory level.

Judging combines analysis of customer online reviews, public votes, with submissions being judged by a panel of industry experts to ensure a fair and meaningful selection.

Entries for 2026 have now closed. Dependant on your state, entries will open January 2027 onwards.

To enter, you must be one of the following:
  1. An Accredited Visitor Information Centre
  2. A Local Council
  3. A Tourism Association that holds QTF Tourism Association Certification
How to Enter:
  1. Enter your state/territory Top Tourism Town Awards (choose below)
  2. They will assess your eligibility and grant you admittance to the awards
  3. Read all selection criteria carefully and enter a top submission!
  4. Win Gold in your category
  5. Your entry will automatically be entered into the national awards where a national judging panel will choose the winners
